UPDATE:
Bergman Elementary School is in lockdown, per RCPD.
ORIGINAL: Riley County police officers are currently on the scene of what is being called an “officer-involved shooting” in the 3700 block of Hawthrone Woods Circle.
According to RCPD Public Information Officer Hali Rowland, emergency crews were on the scene of the reported shooting. One officer was was shot and suffered a “non-life threatening gunshot wound,” according to a release.
No additional information is available at this time, though RCPD is asking that anyone in the area of Hawthorne Woods Circle please stay indoors until an all-clear is given, as the situation remains active as of this posting.
The shooting happened in the northwest portion of Manhattan. It was first reported to KMAN just before 12:30 p.m.
