Green-rcpd-300x300A Manhattan mas was arrested Wednesday for a probation violation. Joshua Dixon, 26, was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department at approximately 11:15 a.m. Dixon was arrested on a warrant for probation violation from Pottawatomie County and was given “no bond.” At the time of this report Dixon was no longer confined at the Riley County Jail.


The RCPD filed two reports Wednesday for theft that listed Target in Manhattan as the victim. One report listed a loss of approximately $4,647 when two white females entered the retail store and left with merchandise they did not purchase.

These women were seen leaving in a 1998 Toyota 4-door sedan in an unknown direction. A breakdown of items taken was not readily available at the time of this report. This crime occurred on Oct. 24 at approximately 3:40 p.m.

The second report filed by RCPD listed a loss of approximately $811 after a a white male and a white female entered the store and left with a cart full of merchandise which was not purchased. This crime occurred on Sept. 2 at approximately 2:15 p.m. Officers continue to investigate both matters and ask that anyone with information on these crimes contact the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers or the Riley County Police Department.


Police arrested Anthony Patton, 50, of Topeka,  on two warrants for failure to appear. He was given a total bond of $5,198 for the warrants which listed original offenses of forgery and contempt. These warrants were served on Wednesday at approximately 10:50 p.m.while Patton was at the Riley County Police Department. At the time of this report Patton was confined at the Riley County Jail.


Two officers with the RCPD are listed as victims on a report for assault of a law enforcement officer after they were threatened with physical harm. No injuries were sustained and an arrest was made at approximately 3 a.m. Thursday.

This incident occurred in the 2300 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. when Tony Peterson, 37, of Council Grove, gestured and vocalized his intent to commit battery on two officers. He was arrested and given a bond of $2,000.

At the time of this report he was confined at the Riley County Jail.
