Using data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis, Taxfoundation.org has come out with a new infographic map, showing the actually value of a $100 bill, per state, across the country.

As they state in their article, average prices for similar goods are much higher in California or New York than in Mississippi or South Dakota, the same amount of dollars will buy you comparatively less in the high-price states, or comparatively more in low-price states.’

Across the country, the states where $100 has the most value are:

  1. Mississippi – $115.74
  2. Arkansas – $114.16
  3. Alabama – $113.51
  4. Missouri – $113.51
  5. South Dakota – $113.38

The places where $100 has the least value are:

  1. Washington, D.C. – $84.60
  2. Hawaii – $85.32
  3. New York – $86.66
  4. New Jersey – $87.64
  5. California – $88.57

What about Kansas?

In Kansas, it feels like you get $111.23 for every Benjamin in your pocket!

Very nice!
