Capitol NashvilleKeith Urban once again brought together some of country music’s biggest names for his fifth annual We’re All for the Hall Benefit concert Tuesday night at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Keith sang his latest hit, “Cop Car,” during the show in addition to leading the backing band with Vince Gill.
Country’s leading ladies were front and center throughout the night with Reba sharing the stories behind two of her major hits, “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia” and “I’m a Survivor,” as she performed them.
Even though Dolly Parton only appeared via a pre-taped video message, her influence was strongly felt as Kacey Musgraves covered Dolly’s late-’70s hit, “Here You Come Again.” Carrie Underwood also paid tribute to Dolly, singing “I Will Always Love You” before launching into a rocked-out rendition of “Last Name.”
Brantley Gilbert got the crowd rocking with “Bottoms Up” before breaking things down with a new ballad, “Grown Ass Man.” Look for those songs on his new album, Just As I Am, due out May 19.
Kip Moore premiered a brand-new song, “My Baby’s Gone” and also delivered his latest single, “Dirt Road.” David Nail started off his two-song set singing “Whatever She’s Got” and then welcomed Lee Ann Womack to sing their duet version of Glen Campbell’s “Galveston.”
Brett Eldredge was on hand to sing “Beat of the Music” and “Mean to Me” from his album, Bring You Back. Mary Chapin Carpenter and Deana Carter sang their big ’90s hits, “He Thinks He’ll Keep Her” and “Strawberry Wine,” respectively.
Darius Rucker told the story of writing his first #1 country hit, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,” and then closed out the night performing “Wagon Wheel” with the full cast joining him onstage for a sing-along.
This year’s show brought in an estimated $600,000 for the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville.
