Image Courtesy UMG NashvilleSam Hunt will shoot the video for his new single, “Take Your Time,” in the next few weeks, but he didn’t want the clip to just play out the song’s lyrics about a guy trying to smooth talk the hottest girl in the bar.

“I didn’t want to go down the obvious road and take it as literal as the song and lyrics go,” Sam tells ABC News radio, “but we did come up with a cool concept, and I’m really looking forward to shooting this video. It’ll be a little different.”

If you want a clue as to how the “Take Your Time” video might look, just check out Sam’s Instagram account, @samhuntmusic. Most of the pictures on his feed have an edgy, black-and-white vibe to them, much like the cover of his debut album, Montevallo. That uniform look is no accident.

Sam explains, “Across the board [with] all of our visual content, I’ve tried to maintain a consistency there. We’ve definitely thought about that in terms of the video. I think the video will be sort of an extension of the way that the Instagram represents the whole deal. “

Sam and his team developed the concept for the “Take Your Time” clip over the Christmas holidays, which is an indication of just how busy the singer’s life is these days. Sam’s career has been on a rocket ride ever since his debut single, “Leave the Night On,” topped the country chart last year.

He says, “It feels like two years has gone by in about six months. It feels like so much has happened, and it all went by so fast that it’s hard to really catch up and wrap my head around the magnitude of all of these cool things that are going on.”

Sam is in Los Angeles this week to perform “Take Your Time” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Thursday.
