MCA NashvilleSam Hunt’s breakthrough album Montevallo leaps from gold certification to double platinum status, thanks to a change in the way the Recording Industry Association of America determines eligibility. Having previously sold the equivalent of 500,000 copies, Sam’s debut album is now at four times that, according to his label, after the RIAA started taking into consideration on-demand audio and video streaming.

The fourth single from the album, “Break Up in a Small Town,” currently sits at number two on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart, as it threatens to equal the success of the record’s previous releases. “Leave the Night On,” “House Party” and “Take Your Time” have all been number-ones.

“Take Your Time” will compete for Single Record of the Year at the 2016 Academy of Country Music Awards, we learned on Monday, as Montevallo also vies for the Album of the Year trophy.

Look for a fifth single from the project, “Make You Miss Me,” coming later this month.
