Steven performed two songs that night, including his Aerosmith classic, “Dream On.” He also heard the song that would become his debut country single that night.

“After we were done, this beautiful young lady sat down and did a song called ‘Love Is Your Name,'” Steven explains. “Well, I fell in love with it that night.”

Steven also met American Idol mentor Scott Borchetta that night, and eventually decided to sign with Borchetta’s Big Machine Label Group to make the country project.

As for why a rock legend is coming over to the country format, Steven explains, “Country music means so much to me because it’s the first records I ever sang along with, and that would be the Everly Brothers, who first opened up my eyes to start singing way back at the age of nine.”

“Love Is Your Name” is now available for download everywhere.
