The new “Hello Barbie” doll will connect to the internet, so she can have 2-way conversations with children. Mattel showed off the new Barbie at the New York Toy Fair last weekend, and said they partnered with a speech-recognition company called Toytalk to make the doll. The doll’s digital makeover will connect it to the internet to play interactive games and tell stories and jokes. Her necklace has a microphone and speaker for the conversations.

Hello Barbie will also remember what a child says and refer to those comments in later conversations. For example, if a child says she likes to dance, the doll may mention that during another discussion. The doll is expected to sell for about 75 dollars, and it will most likely be on store shelves in time for the holiday season.
