Academy of Country Music

You can mark one in the win column for CBS and the Academy of Country Music after Sunday’s 51st ACM Awards. More than 11 million people watched the live show from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, enough the make it number one for the night.

The numbers are down, however, from last year’s big golden anniversary show, when close to 16 million viewers tuned in for the ACM’s Texas sojourn at AT&T Stadium. It’s also less than the 13-and-a-half million folks who watched The 49th Annual CMA Awards from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena last November.
