ABC/Image Group LAThomas Rhett admits he’s starting 2016 sitting on top of the world — and the top of the country charts too, as “Die a Happy Man” spends its third week at number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and its second atop the Mediabase tally.

“I’m at a loss for words — there really isn’t any better way to start off the new year than like this,” he reflects. “Everyone knows how personal and special this song is to me and my wife, so for it to be connecting the way it has with fans is all the more gratifying.” Thomas wrote the song for his wife Lauren, who also stars in the video, which was shot in Hawaii.

The current single from his sophomore album Tangled Up also happens to be his fifth chart topper in a row. Thomas heads out on the We Were Here tour next week with Jason Aldean.
