ABC/Craig SjodinTim McGraw has often talked about being outnumbered in a house full of girls, occupied by his wife Faith Hill and their daughters Gracie, Maggie, and Audrey. He says even when it comes to what to get them for Christmas, the struggle is real.

“I think I’m pretty thoughtful, for the most part. It’s tough, you know, havin’ daughters, because once they reach a certain age it’s all about clothes and that kinda thing, so I’m not very good at that,” he admits. “If I had boys it’d be footballs and baseballs gloves, and stuff like that, but daughters, it’s a little tougher.”

Just like Ralphie in A Christmas Story, the “Top of the World” hitmaker says he knows the present lots of little boys would love.

“Gosh, the best gift. As a child, I remember gettin’ a 12-gauge shotgun, as a kid, a used shotgun,” he clarifies, “but that was probably the thing that I remember the most.

Tim’s hit “Diamond Rings and Old Barstools” is nominated for Best Country Song at the 58th Annual Grammy Awards. We’ll find out if it wins February 15, when the show airs on CBS.
