Capitol NashvilleHootie and the Blowfish haven’t made a record together in more than a decade, but this weekend, Darius Rucker reunites with the band that made him famous for two shows in his hometown. Darius and his band mates will play Charleston’s Volvo Car Stadium Friday and Saturday nights, to raise money for the non-profit they started in 2000.

The Hootie and the Blowfish Foundation focuses on public education issues in South Carolina, and its Homegrown Concert Series also coincides with a school supply drive to help students in the Charleston County School District. While the band confirms they plan to make another record eventually and hit the road, they tell The Post and Courier there’s no timeline.

Earlier this summer, Darius released his latest solo single, “If I Told You.” Next week, he picks up his Good for a Good Time tour with Dan+Shay and Michael Ray.
