Michael Becker/FOX Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood have been talking about making a duet record since long before they ever were married. This year, it will finally becoming a reality, as they release their first album together– a Christmas project, in time for the holiday season.

It turns out, the record will have a special guest or two. Garth let it slip this past weekend that James Taylor had recently been in Nashville to play and sing on the new holiday record. Taylor’s wife Kim also contributes vocals to the record.

The Brooks and the Taylors have become good friends over the years. James showed up to sing Garth’s hit “The River” at his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame several years ago. Trisha repaid the couple’s kindness with a meal of roast beef, rice, mashed potatoes and gravy, after they sang on the new record.
