Columbia NashvilleTyler Farr is canceling all his concert dates for the next few months and immediately going on vocal rest after undergoing microlaryngeal surgery to remove a polyp on his vocal chords. The operatically-trained singer first noticed he was having problems during his summer tour with Jason Aldean, but didn’t discover exactly what the issue was until he suffered through a severe round of bronchitis at the end of the year.

“I hate cancelling shows, especially the upcoming tour with my buddy Lee Brice, but I never want to give the fans less than everything,” the “Redneck Crazy” hitmaker says. “I know the sooner I let my body heal, the sooner I can get back out there — and the fewer problems I will have in the long run. To me, it’s never about the next few days, but doing the right thing overall, and now I’m under doctor’s orders.”

Tyler’s sophomore album, Suffer in Peace, came out last April, with its first release, “A Guy Walks into a Bar,” becoming his third number-one in a row. His latest single, “Better in Boots,” is currently in the top 30.

Tyler hopes to be able to return to the road by spring.
