Image Courtesy Sony Music NashvilleTyler Farr is keeping some interesting company these days. The avid outdoorsman recently went squirrel hunting with his new friend, known as Wood Duck, down on the panhandle of Florida. After the hunt, Tyler learned how to clean the squirrels and prepare them for dinner at Wood Duck’s home, which is made out of cypress trees Wood Duck cut down himself.

Tyler tells ABC News Radio, “He said, ‘That’s what us poor people do is we make our own stuff,’ and they really did it. So, when you’re seeing Duck Dynasty and seeing them cooking up squirrel gravy and stuff, there’s people that actually do that. I just happen to hang out with ’em. “

Learning to live off the land will come in handy for Tyler in case of natural disaster or some other catastrophe.

“If the world comes to an end, I don’t want to have to rely on anyone for me to eat,” Tyler says. ” I’ll have a teepee, and I’ll have all the chickadees in my teepee ’cause I’ll have all the fur and all the meat and everything anybody could want.”

Tyler would ask the ladies in his teepee to pitch in with the food supply, though.

He adds, “I could grow some vegetables, but the women are the gatherers, and men are the hunters. So, we’ll meet halfway.”

For now, Tyler is enjoying some great catering on the road with Jason Aldean‘s Burn It Down tour.
