Image Courtesy: Danny Clinch/ShorefireZac Brown Band has racked up an impressive run of hits at country radio since their 2008 debut with “Chicken Fried,” but if you go to see them live, don’t expect to hear every single they’ve ever released. The group is just as likely to throw in a cover of Queen‘s “Bohemian Rhapsody” or Metallica‘s “Enter Sandman” as they are to perform one of their #1 hits, such as “Colder Weather” or “Highway 20 Ride.”
“We could actually do a greatest hits show,” Zac Brown Band member Clay Cook tells Provo, Utah’s Daily Herald, “I think some of the people want to see that, but I think the reason people like us is we stretch out and do non-conventional things. We’re musicians. We’re not a jukebox up there on stage.”
Even if the band’s set list gets a little left-of-center, Clay thinks you’ll have a great time at a Zac Brown Band show regardless of your musical tastes. He says, “We’re trying to build such an entertaining show that hopefully it won’t matter too much if you don’t know those particular songs.”
Zac Brown Band takes their Jekyll + Hyde tour to Salt Lake City, Utah Thursday night.
