Congratulations to our Week 4 Hometown Hero from Robert’s Heating & Cooling: Jim Brinkman!
Jim is a retired veteran and currently a school bus driver for the Rock Creek school district. He was nominated by members of the teaching staff.
Veterans bring a level of respect to other humans, while I’ve only worked with Jim as a bus driver- he is a person you will never forget. When I heard the ad for this contest and thought of those who have impacted the community, Jim is at the top of the list. Jim drives a school bus for Rock Creek Schools- but he does much more than that. Jim offers a comforting grin to every child that enters his bus, every single day. For many kids, this might be the only greeting the receive. He not only says good morning, but he always asks how they are doing and makes kids know they are loved and cared for. Students always beg to ride on Jim’s bus! Jim doesn’t only have that affect on students- he is one of the most positive people I have encountered as a teacher. He is a true example of what being a light looks like in this world. Jim always goes above and beyond his regular route to ensure that all of his kids have a way home from the shuttle bus and looks after his students like his own. Our community is a far better place with Jim in it. He brings a smile to students, teachers and everyone he encounters on a daily basis. Thank you, Jim, for making our community a better place to live and raise our children.
Jim receives a 4-pack of tickets to an upcoming K-State football game, plus is in the running to win the full Furnace and AC replacement from Robert’s Heating and Cooling!
Thank you, Jim, for our service to our country and to the Rock Creek community!
