C’mon now…you didn’t think that Blake Shelton was done with television, did you?
Blake has teamed up with “Yellowstone” creator Tyler Sheridan to bring you all a brand new singing competition…but unlike what you’re used to seeing. “The Road” is set to debut in the fall of 2025, and it will send contestants out on tour with established headliners and perform as opening acts at venues all over the country. It’s taking the competition to where the “rubber meets the road”, says Shelton. He adds that he “knows what it’s like to chase a music dream and life live on tour”.
Meanwhile, CBS is teasing that the show will give viewers a “backstage pass into the gritty and unforgiving life of touring artist”. Watching the show will allow never before seen access into the music business, and what it’s really like before the curtain goes up.
And for fans hoping that Blake someday returns to that fancy red chair on “The Voice”? Not likely. “I did 23 seasons of the show and I enjoyed it,” said Blake “and by the time I got to that last season, it was time. I don’t mean to sound like I’m not a part of the family anymore, but as far as the job goes, I don’t think I’m ever ready to do that again.”
