On Tuesday, August 21st, from 1:30 to 3:00 pm, the VIP (Visually Impaired Persons) Support Group will have a special presentation from the Beach Museum of Art at the Senior Center. This year they will travel the Silk Road in Kansas with the opportunity to have hands-on with some textural pieces. The 10th Annual Speedy Pd Race for Parkinson’s Disease will be held on Saturday, August 25th, 8:00 am at Tuttle Creek State Park. There will be a USATF Certified 5k/10k Race; 1/2 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk and Team Competition. They will have Chip Timing, Flat Courses, BBQ & Beer. A great morning for the entire family to enjoy. The Beecher Bible & Rifle Church will host an “Old Settlers’ Day”, August 26th. Events begin with Church Service, 9:45-10:45 am. Pastor Rev. Lynn Roth officiating. “Pot-luck lunch” will follow at noon. Afternoon’s program will begin at 1:30 pm with guest speaker, Mr. Doug Meloan, Manhattan. Program subject “America’s Historical Route 66”. The public is invited to attend this event; an educational program revealing information not found in many history books. Photos and written articles of local interest will be displayed for viewing. Time to reminisce with friends, relatives and new acquaintance prior to and following the closing of the program.
