Our second Hometown Hero courtesy of Robert’s Heating and Cooling is Savannah Brethauer!

Savannah was nominated by her mother, Jennifer. Her nominating letter is below:

Savannah was a combat medic in the US Army for 6 years. She spent 364 days straight in Iraq, where they tried to blow her up once, the rest of the time she dodged a lot of bullets.

She works for the Kansas Dept of Ag now, getting animals out of bad situations. She lives in Riley and has a dog grooming gig in her house where she grooms pets for older folks who don’t have a way to get to Manhattan, even picking up and delivering if needed. She also sings the National Anthem every year on military day at the Kaw Valley Rodeo.

Savannah has the biggest heart, will help anybody in need, and is my amazing daughter and a fantastic mother to my beautiful granddaughter. It would be wonderful to see Savannah get some recognition for her service to this country! Thank you!

For being this week’s Hometown Hero, Savannah receives 4 tickets to an upcoming K-State football game, as well as a $100 maintenance gift card from Kia of Manhattan and a $50 gift card to RC McGraw’s.

Her name is also entered in our grand prize drawing, a complete Furnace/AC replacement from Robert’s Heating and Cooling! We’ll draw that winner on Nov. 10!

Nominate a veteran you know who deserves recognition for being an outstanding soldier and member of the community here!
