Congratulations to our Week 5 Hometown Hero from Robert’s Heating and Cooling: Daniel Watkins!
Dan served as a Medic in Desert Storm. After his service he was an EMT and now works as a massage therapist. He has served as post commander of the Manhattan VFW and is active in the Flint Hills Veterans Coalition and organizing of veteran oriented service projects. Dan is also a member of the Fort Riley Jeep Club, organizing Jeep parades with Christmas decorated jeeps to travel to assisted living homes last year during COVID, as well as drive by birthday parties for the children of deployed soldiers. Dan is a veteran committed to helping veterans, and is this week’s Hometown Hero.

Daniel wins a 4-pack of tickets to K-State football, plus, like our other veterans we’ve recognized over the last few weeks, he is in the running to win the HVAC replacement from Robert’s Heating and Cooling! Bill and Jen will announce the winner of that during the Morning Buzz on Veterans Day!
