Our Hometown Hero this week is: Randy Mumpower.

Randy is a member of American Legion Post 172 and also the ALR ( American Legion Riders) of Post 172 for Wamego. He ALWAYS shows up by doing: Memorial honors at funerals with flags and the 21 gun salute and giving the family’s the spent shells and folding and presenting flags to the next of kin. He is there to put up flags on the bridge and cemeteries on Military Day, he escorts Gold Star families, he does raffles to support Post 172 and the the Honor flights for Veterans. He also was instrumental in getting funding and donations for the Wamego Veterans Memorial in City Park. Post 172 used to do the Easter Egg hunt (before COVID) and if Randy saw a child without an egg he would make sure that child got one.
