I may never understand health trends.

Apparently, the new, hot exercise that everyone is doing is “retro running.” Which is a weird way of saying “I’m going to run backwards and most likely fall on my butt in front of half of the town.”

In fairness, it’s all the rage in the United Kingdom. But backwards running videos have been viewed more than 100,000 times on TikTok, so it’s going to be a fad for a few weeks until people get bored of the videos and move on to something else.

It’s even a legit sport, with a world championship and everything.

The reason more and more people are discovering “retro running?” It allegedly burns 20 to 30 percent more calories than forward walking, and it’s supposedly better for your knees.

A poll in England showed one in six people would give it a shot. Not me. I have a hard enough time walking normally without ending up in an ER.
