It’s apparently one of the most important pieces of advice she’s ever gotten…and she took it to heart.
On a recent podcast appearance, Lainey Wilson was asked about some of the best advice she’d ever gotten from other artists. She once got this gem from her idol Dolly Parton: make sure your manager is NOT a nice person.
“You have to have someone who can say no”, Parton told her. Lainey wondered how you determine which things you agree on. “Everything I do, I have to be really excited, and genuinely fired up about doing it.’ answered Dolly. “It might seem like I’m doing a lot, but it’s because I care about everything I’m doing.”
