Back before Wallen became a big name in country music, he was a simple teenager attending the Gibbs High School in Tennessee. At the school, Wallen showed a love for baseball and even got to help his team to a state title in 2010. To this day, you can hear him talk about his time at Gibbs
championship team and if you go to his concerts, you hear him speak fondly of his time with Gibbs, even wearing a Gibbs Eagles baseball jersey a lot of times.
“He’s been positive promoter of Gibbs and has given back throughout his time after high school.”, said school principal Jason Webster. “We’re thankful for the things that he does, not just for Gibbs high school, but Knox County schools and the community at large. He’s a very giving person and we’re excited to do this for him.”
When looking at the numbers, the Morgan Wallen Foundation donated $35,000 to the baseball and band program. That was just the start as the organization also donated another $140,000 for renovations at the Gibbs Ruritan Park. And the list kept on going with yet another $100,000 going to the Jefferson County Baseball Park.
Nice work Morgan!
