Here’s one of those “no way” stories. Grand Ole Opry member Dierks Bentley was once given a lifetime ban from the Grand Ole Opry.

Crazy, but true!

You see, in a previous life, Dierks was a researcher for the Nashville Network. He would sneak backstage to the artists. All was well until the Opry management got wind of it, and they revoked his Opry access permanently.

Now, if you watched the big Opry 100 celebration Wednesday, you saw Dierks on stage. Turns out the ban was lifted in 2003 when Dierks’ country career began taking off. The olive branch was extended again two years later when he was invited to join the Opry.
