The average American man describes the perfect woman as having blonde hair, blue eyes and a graduate degree.
Researchers had 145,000 men attach a specific financial value to each attribute in order to come up with a total cost for their ideal first date.
They found men were surprisingly willing to pay the most for a woman with a graduate degree. Men also were willing to pay more for women with blonde hair and blue eyes.
The men also prefer non-smokers, and, in an ideal world, would rather that their date was more of a social drinker, rather than someone who indulged in alcohol on a regular basis.
