Martina McBride’s 86 year old father Daryl Schiff has passed away.
The singer took to social media over the weekend to let her fans know. “I really don’t have the right words. My dad passed away Tuesday night. Our hearts are broken.” According to McBride, her dad was born on Nov. 7, 1938, in a farmhouse in Sharon, Kan. He lived in the community his entire life. He married his wife Verla Jean in 1965, and they were married for nearly 55 years before her death in January of 2020.
Schiff was the leader of the family band, the Schifters, in which Martina got her start along with her four brothers. McBride noted that he had remained active, even driving himself to the local Co-op for coffee with his friends.
