What a party last night in Nashville!
The Grand Ole Opry celebrated turning 100 years old with a star-studded, three hour extravaganza. Host Blake Shelton was the Master of Ceremonies, and there was one fantastic performance after another. Here are some of the highlights.
Dierks Bentley and Jamey Johnson delivered a rousing tribute to Charlie Daniels, Carly Pearce celebrated her hero Dolly Parton with a stripped down “Jolene”, and Garth and Trisha channeled Johnny Cash and June Carter. Even Ashley McBride and Post Malone got in on the tribute action.
But for my money, the cherry on top was Carrie Underwood singing “Forever And Ever, Amen”. Randy Travis was not only in attendance at the show, but got to sing along to the final notes.
The Opry doesn’t officially hit the century mark until October, but turning 100 calls for a huge celebration. Last night, Nashville delivered!
