Three music icons have been named Tuesday as the 2025 class to the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Kenny Chesney, June Carter Cash, and Tony Brown will be formally inducted later this year during the Hall’s annual Medallion Ceremony. The Country Music Association established the Country Music Hall of Fame as a way to recognize and honor individuals for their outstanding contributions and impact on the advancement of country music.

Chesney will go in from the Modern Era category. The 8-time Entertainer of the Year has sold more than 35 million albums and performs to sold out stadiums regularly. In a statement Chesney said “Thanks so much to the Country Music Hall of Fame, the fans, and to my wonderful team who have dreamed this dream with me every step of the journey”.

From the Veterans Era category, a name that has been missing for far too long: June Carter Cash…the matriarch of one of the most well-known country music families. And from the Non-performer category, music executive Tony Brown. Brown was at home when he got the call. What was his reaction?

“It knocked me to my knees’, said Brown.

Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
