A veteran who worked for a minor league baseball team in Florence, Kentucky was fired because he stopped taking tickets during the National Anthem.

The 69-year-old man worked as a ticket taker for the Florence Freedom.  He was fired because he paused from taking tickets when the National Anthem was played.

The team’s owner said he was let go because it was a safety concern, adding that policy from the office of protocol states to continue to take tickets during the anthem to cut down on long lines and potential dangers.
