We’ve all seen this coming…but the man himself has now made it official: he’s played his last show on the road.
At his concert over the weekend in Milwaukee, Alan Jackson told the crowd that “Y’all may have heard that I’m kinda winding down. In fact, this is my last roadshow of my career,”. Not surprisingly, the audience responded with a standing ovation. “Y’all are going to make me tear up”, said Alan.
Jackson suffers from Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease which affects his nervous system. He’s been hinting that he would be bringing the touring part of his career to a close, but to hear him announce that the weekend show was his last? No wonder emotions ran high. He’s had 35 Billboard Hot Country songs, won multiple ACM and CMA awards, a couple of Grammys…and is a member of the Grand Ole Opry, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Jackson promises one final show in the town where his career began many years ago, when he and his wife came to Nashville pulling a U-Haul trailer.
Wanna bet that will be one tough ticket?
