Co-host Luke Bryan opened the show with “Huntin’, Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day,” getting some help from surprise guest and former co-host Blake Shelton.
New Vocal Duo/Group winners Old Dominion played “Snapback.”
Kenny Chesney debuted his new single, “Noise.”
Chris Young and Cassadee Pope duetted on “Think of You.”
Eric Church sang “Record Year,” which included snippets of the original recordings of hits by late rock legends David Bowie, The Eagles‘ Glenn Frey, heavy metal icon Lemmy of Motorhead and Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots.
Co-host Dierks Bentley sang “Somewhere on a Beach” while standing in the audience.
Cam sang her breakout hit “Burning House.”
Jason Aldean debuted his upbeat new single “When Lights Come On.”
Cole Swindell sang his touching #1 hit, “”You Should Be Here.”
Brett Eldredge sang “Drunk on Your Love,” while passing out roses to random women in the audience.
Keith Urban sang his new single “Wasted Time,” surrounded by leaping flames.
Little Big Town brought down the house with the rollicking album cut “Stay All Night,” which featured the incredible playing of New Orleans musician Trombone Shorty.
New Female Vocalist winner Kelsea Ballerini sang a bit of “Love Me Like You Mean It” before segueing into “Peter Pan.” Pop star Nick Jonas joined her on electric guitar and vocals for the last part of the song.
Tim McGraw sang “Humble and Kind” while the entire arena was illuminated by audience members wearing light-up bracelets. Tim was then joined onstage by adults and children of seemingly every race, creed and color.
Charles Kelley debuted his new solo single “Lonely Girl.”
Carrie Underwood, wearing a sexy, short outfit encased in a sort of metal cage, debuted her new single “Church Bells” on an elaborate, Gothic set featuring big gates — either from a cemetery or a mansion, it wasn’t clear — and robed figures banging drums.
Sam Hunt sat at the piano to perform his latest single, “Make You Miss Me.”
Thomas Rhett sang his ACM-winning smash “Die a Happy Man.”
Miranda Lambert sang ZZ Top‘s rock classic “Tush” accompanied by ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, as well as Keith Urban.
Dolly Parton and special guest Katy Perry sang a medley of “Coat of Many Colors,” “Jolene” and “9 to 5.”
Vocal Duo of the Year winners Florida Georgia Line sang “Confession.”
The night’s big winner, Chris Stapleton, sang the album cut “Fire Away.”
