ABC/Image Group LABrett Eldredge already took home a CMA statue — in 2014 as New Artist of the Year — and he may soon have an ACM trophy to match. This year, he’s up for both New Male Vocalist and Male Vocalist of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards.

“All I’ve ever wanted to do is sing,” the Illinois vocalist says. “I went to college at MTSU and would drive back and forth to Nashville and play at the Holiday Inn Commodore Lounge or songwriters’ nights, just any place where I could sing,” he recalls. “I live to sing and entertain. I cherish every moment of this journey and I’m so honored to be recognized.” We’ll find out if Brett wins April 3 when the awards air live on CBS at 8 p.m. ET.

This week, his hit “Drunk on Your Love” cracks the top 15, just as he’s about to head overseas for his first European dates.  He’ll play four shows in the United Kingdom and Ireland starting February 13.
