A bottle of beer bought at a restaurant by a sister for her fallen soldier brother will remain at the bar, draped in an American flag, as a permanent tribute.

The woman ordered two beers at the Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant in Tacoma. Her server said she couldn’t order two drinks at a time due to state law, but changed his mind when she told him the beer was for her brother, who died in Iraq.

She placed a bottle by the empty seat next to her while she ate lunch. Her waiter then told the woman that his boss had agreed the drink would be on the house.

The woman wrote a note on the receipt. It said, ‘Thank you. An act of kindness goes a long way. It means a lot to me. Have a great rest of your day – A Grateful Soldier.’

The manager posted online a photo of the beer and note, and it’s been liked more than 70,000 times- with people praising the restaurant for honoring fallen troops.
