Image Courtesy RCA RecordsChris Young was looking for a love song to round out his latest album, A.M., when a friend of his sent over “Who I Am with You.” Once he heard the track, Chris knew immediately he’d found the right song to fit that slot.
He says, “It’s something you wanted to [do the] first dance at a wedding to. That’s kind of what I heard the first time I heard this. I was like, ‘God, this is such a cool song.'”
“Who I Am with You” is the follow-up to “Aw Naw,” the rocking lead single from A.M.
“I’m so glad this is the second single, because it does give you a little bit of a look at the different things that are on this album,” Chris explains. “We led with a big, uptempo party rock song. This song, it is a love song from start to finish.”
Chris thinks everyone can relate to the song’s lyrics about that special someone who makes you become a better person.
He adds with a laugh, “I wish I had written it.”
Chris will perform “Who I Am with You” at Dierks Bentley‘s Miles & Music for Kids benefit concert September 28 in Nashville.
