While his first two chart-toppers, “Chillin’ It” and “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight,” get a great reaction in concert, he says, “There’s just something about ‘Ain’t Worth the Whiskey,’  man that everybody, whether they’re going through it or they’ve been through it, you can tell [by] the way they sing it, the way they mean it.”

Cole personally understands what those fans are going through when they identify with “Ain’t Worth the Whiskey.”

“I fell in love with country music because it can make you feel something or help you through something,” says Cole, “There’s been so many people that have had songs that have gotten me through stuff. If I can have one that’ll get somebody through it, then that’s crazy.”

Cole takes his live show to Council Bluffs, Iowa Thursday night.
