CMA/Image Group LAThis weekend, David Nail and his wife Catherine welcomed the arrival of their twins. Lawson Brent and Lillian Catherine were born Saturday morning just before eight at a Nashville-area hospital. Big brother came first at 7:44, weighing 6 pounds, 2 ounces, with little sister following quickly afterwards at 7:45 at 5 pounds, 14 ounces.

The first-time father says their arrival is even more precious because of the couple’s struggles to start a family.

“You know, it’s been four or five years that we’ve been battling the issues of infertility,” he reveals. “With the help of some amazing doctors in Nashville and science we were able to, you know, conceive. So it’s just, knowing how difficult it’s been, and just like anything — when times are tough and you come out on the other side, it makes it that much more sweeter.”

With their two new bundles of joy, David and Catherine are prepping for a holiday they’ll never forget.

“It will be the best Christmas that I think my wife or I have ever had. You know, it’s been a long time in the making but we’re extremely excited and ready to see what God has in store for us. Hopefully they look like their mama and not like me!” he jokes. You can check out pictures of the two newborns and judge for yourself at People.com.

David sums it all up by saying, “No words can describe the feeling. Beyond worth the wait. We are crazy in love with them both.”

Right now, his single “Night’s on Fire” is climbing the charts, with his new CD Fighter due early next year.
