Capitol NashvilleDierks Bentley delivers the most dramatic episode yet, in the latest in his series of short films set to songs from his forthcoming album Black. In the first, “I’ll Be the Moon,” we met a girlfriend caught between her live-in boyfriend and a lover on the side. “What the Hell Did I Say” found her lover sending a series of drunken messages overnight that were ultimately intercepted by the boyfriend. Now, “Pick Up” shows what happens the morning after.

“When you’re in the throes of a relationship, it can be crazy and lustful, even obsessive and jealous,” Dierks observes. “‘Pick Up’ drops into the sequence as that point when you just have to be closer to your girl. For the story line and plot of these videos, [director] Wes [Edwards] definitely takes it there and puts a shocking spin on it.”

If you stay until the very end, you’ll be left with a cliffhanger that foreshadows the fourth and final episode, which is set to the title track of the record. It’s due May 13, one day after Dierks launches his Somewhere on a Beach Tour with Randy Houser and Cam. Look for the full album on the way May 27.
