Fort Riley will welcome a new deputy commanding officer Friday.

The following statement was released by Fort Riley’s Division of Public Affairs:

FORT RILEY, Kan. – The 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley will officially
welcome Col. (promotable) Patrick D. Frank, the division’s deputy commanding
officer for support, during a Victory with Honors ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Oct.
30.

The ceremony, which will include the 1st Infantry Division Band, the
Commanding General’s Mounted Color Guard and the firing of ceremonial
cannons, will take place in Fort Riley’s Victory Park.

Frank assumed duties as the deputy commanding officer on Sept. 8. He
previously served as executive officer to the commander, ISAF/Resolute
Support; head of operations for the “Big Red One”; and commander of 1st
Battalion, 28th Infantry, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry
Division, which deployed as a part of the surge during Operation Iraqi
Freedom V.
