Mark TuckerGarth Brooks is challenging Carrie Underwood‘s hockey-playing husband to join him onstage. It all started in early January when the “Heartbeat” hitmaker captured the Nashville Predators’ center singing along to one of Garth’s hits from 1992 and shared it on social media. The Country Music Hall of Famer eventually saw the impromptu performance, and now Mike Fisher officially has an invitation to sing on Garth’s ongoing World Tour.

“You never know who sings. Carrie Underwood’s husband, Mike — I see on Facebook he’s singing ‘The River.’ Well, he’s sandbagging us!” Garth jokes. “This guy’s a good singer, and I haven’t heard of this. Maybe it’s because his wife’s so famous and sings all the time. So I called him out, you know, if we come through Nashville or anyplace he’s at, I want to get his a** onstage to see how he does, ‘cause he’s good!”

This weekend, Mike was busy supporting his wife as she kicked off her 2016 dates, sharing a photo of her new in-the-round stage on Instagram with the caption, “Amazing first show of the storyteller tour!” adding the hashtag #proudhubby.

Next month, it happens that Garth heads to the Canadian native’s home province of Ontario. So far, there’s no word from Mike on when — or if — he’ll take Garth up on his offer.
