Garth Brook’s return to the stage has been a string of sold-out shows and appreciative fans. And Friday night in Minneapolis, one fan’s sign brought the house down.

Teresa Shaw has been fighting breast cancer since being diagnosed in June. She and her daughter traveled from Iowa to see Garth at one of his ten shows at the Target Center.

After morning chemotherapy, Teresa and her daughter made a sign to take to the show.  “I was just hoping he would see it and maybe if I could get him to get it signed,” said Shaw.

Mission accomplished!  Not only did Garth see the sign…so did everyone else at the Target Center when one of the crowd cameras picked it up.  What happened next was…well, get a tissue.

Garth came over, sat down on the stage, and finished performing his classic song “The Dance”.  He also gave Teresa the guitar he’d been using to play the song.

“To give away something like that is just remarkable, and now if I ever have a bad day, I can always go look at his guitar and get inspiration,” she said.
