ABC/Richard Harbaugh/Rahoul Ghose/PBSMany Downton Abbey fans have likely shed a tear while watching the wildly-popular PBS series, thanks to all the deaths, births and proposals that have transpired over the show’s four seasons.  Now, one of the series’ stars reveals who makes her cry:  Taylor Swift.

Michelle Dockery, who plays Lady Mary Crawley on Downton Abbey, tells People magazine that the last time she cried was at one of Taylor’s shows.  Why?  She explains, “My godchildren went to see [her] in concert and got to meet her.  They literally ran toward her and hugged her, and it was amazing.”

“I got big bonus points for that,” Dockery adds. “I’ll remind them when they are teenagers.”

Dockery is something of a musician herself: she tells People that during downtime on the Downton Abbey set, she, plus Elizabeth McGovern, who plays her mother Lady Cora, Countess of Grantham, and Allan Leech, who plays chauffeur-turned-Crawley-son-in-law Tom Branson, all play guitar.  “It’s quite funny, us being all in costume and jamming together,” Dockery says, adding that their repertoire includes “the usual...R.E.M….we’re not particularly advanced.”

Dockery can also be seen opposite Liam Neeson in the new action flick Non-Stop.
