Image Courtesy Red Bow RecordsJoe Nichols is spending as much time in the studio as possible between tour dates, working on his next album. So far, he’s got six songs recorded, and he thinks four of those tracks could be hit singles.

Joe tells The Arizona Republic, “We’ll probably cut 20, maybe more than 20, and then we’ll narrow it down to our favorite 13 to 15 songs and go from there. But I think we’ve got an incredible start and I think the next single will be off the next album.”

Don’t expect Joe to try his hand at rapping or dropping a dance beat on the new album, though. He’s committed to continuing the country sound from his latest album, Crickets, which produced the #1 hits “Sunny and 75′ and “Yeah.”

Joe says of his approach in the studio, “I think [it’s] maintaining the integrity of our sound and having the same kind of attitude, make it not so far away from what radio will play but at the same time being unique.”
