ABC/Image Group LALast week, Kenny Chesney warned us to be on the look-out for new music from him this spring. Now, thanks to his manager’s recent conversation with Billboard, we know a little more about when it could come.

“We’re hoping for May,” Clint Higham tells the magazine. “He’s still recording. He’s a great A&R person,” he says of Kenny’s ability to pick material, “and he knows the funnel in which he can compete is pretty tight. You can’t give [fans] too much of where you’ve been, [and] if you try to conform to what everybody else is doing, then that doesn’t stay true to him. But from what I’m hearing, he should be in good shape,” Kenny’s longtime business partner says of the music so far.

Higham also manages Old Dominion, who’ll head out with Kenny on his Spread the Love dates starting April 23. Miranda Lambert and Sam Hunt will join them on the trek.
