ABC/Image Group LAGet ready to head into the kitchen with Kix Brooks. This summer, the Louisiana native will release his first cookbook, Cookin’ It with Kix:  The Art of Celebrating and the Fun of Outdoor Cooking. In addition to more than 100 recipes for dishes ranging from beignets to duck gumbo, the collection will include personal stories, all with a tip of the hat to Kix’s beloved Creole culture.

“The cookbook is all about making it easy to be outside creating memories with the people who mean the most to you,” he says. “Whether you are getting ready for a backyard BBQ, planning a menu for Thanksgiving dinner or want to cook up some fish you just pulled out of a stream, we have recipes for you. Before you know it, you’ll be cookin’ like a Cajun too!” he jokes.

Cookin’ It with Kix will be available August 30. Brooks & Dunn head back to Sin City May 3 to resume their Together in Vegas residency with Reba at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
