ABC/Image Group LAAs many of us are rushing around trying to wrap up our Christmas shopping, Martina McBride is busy finishing her first album for Nash Icon Records. In the past, the multi-year CMA Female Vocalist winner has spent her December on a holiday tour, but this year, she’s been in the studio.

While Martina may be working hard on new music, she says it’s not difficult to recall her favorite Christmas present of all time.

“I got a puppy when I was probably seven years old, and it’s really hard to beat a puppy. It’s hard to beat that as a gift. It’s either a bicycle or a puppy are right up there as ultimate kids’ Christmas gifts… Actually I got her a couple days before Christmas and she was a little toy poodle and my mom pulled her out of her pocket and she fit in the palm of my hand. So that was a pretty special Christmas,” she remembers.

Martina also hints that she hopes to have a special present for her fans by the time the season comes round again — a new Christmas album. Meanwhile, look for the lead single from her new record after the first of the year.
