RCA NashvilleMiranda Lambert is one of country music’s biggest stars these days, so her schedule is non-stop between recording, touring, doing interviews and scheduling quality time with husband, Blake Shelton. In all that madness, Miranda has to remind herself to slow down and reflect on how amazing the last few years have been. That’s part of the inspiration for her latest hit, “Automatic.”

Says Miranda, “I’m getting to where I’ve lived a little more. I’ve done some things. I have a long way to go, but I also am realizing that it’s very fast-paced this life that I’m living right now, and the life that we’re all living.”

Miranda thinks of “Automatic” as a mental scrapbook helping her hold on to some precious memories.

“It’s always about the next. The next place, the next show, the next event. Whatever’s happening. And it’s never about right now or what we did five years ago,” Miranda says. “It’s like, ‘Remember that time?’ I just want to make sure I’m enjoying this.”

“Automatic” is the lead single from Miranda’s upcoming album, Platinum, due out June 3.
