Image Courtesy MCA NashvilleSam Hunt does a lot of smooth talking to a girl in a bar on his latest hit “Take Your Time,” and he encourages single guys to use that approach if they’re looking to meet someone new this Valentine’s Day weekend.
“My philosophy on that scenario is to just keeping talking,” Sam tells ABC News Radio with a laugh. “You know, as long as you keep talking, and this girl still seems interested and is listening and you don’t run out of interesting things to say, then you’re on the right path.”
Sam admits he’s a little more shy than you might think from listening to “Take Your Time,” though. While Sam and his band mates enjoy talking to the ladies they meet on the road, he doesn’t want to be painted as a “player” or “Lothario.” Sam hopes that sincerity comes across in “Take Your Time.”
Sam adds, “Hopefully, there is that endearing quality in the song that doesn’t come off as if he’s trying to get with her in a shallow way, but he’s genuinely interested in this girl.”
It looks like Sam’s fans are getting the message loud and clear. “Take Your Time” has become Sam’s second consecutive #1 hit on Billboard‘s Hot Country Songs chart. It’s the follow-up to his debut hit, “Leave the Night On,” from his first album, Montevallo, available now.
