The book covers his childhood in Texas during the Depression to his time as a Nashville songwriter in the ’60s to his reinvention as a cultural icon starting when he moved back to Texas in the ’70s. The stories behind Willie’s classic albums such as Stardust, Red Headed Stranger and Phases and Stages are included, too.
Fans will also get to read about Willie’s relationship with his fellow country legends Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings.
It’s a Long Story is Willie’s first book since 2012’s, Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die: Musings from the Road.
